The Badger Story
A multi-sensory in-home theatre experience
Welcome to The Badger Story, a multi-sensory theatre experience for the whole family to enjoy in the home. It’s a tale of friendship, diversity and acceptance, and an encounter with a badger.
The Badger Story is quite special, as it can be enjoyed by pretty much everyone. It has been made to provide access to the theatre for diverse audiences, especially people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and high and complex needs. The Badger Story is a theatre experience to share, and so we encourage you to turn your home, school classroom, supported living environment, care home, or hospital room into your very own theatre when watching The Badger Story.

Glass Ceiling Arts Collective is what it says on the tin. We are a group of creative people that make art that breaks the glass ceiling, creating access to meaningful arts experiences for all people. Our mission is to create equal access to the arts for all; especially for those from marginalised communities enabling everyone to participate in the arts at both a community and professional level. We recognise the extraordinary and unique abilities of our diverse people and provide platforms to showcase these talents. Our vision is for everyone to experience work that speaks to them so that we can remove barriers that exist in our society.

Frozen Light make multi-sensory theatre for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities. We have a national reputation for our innovative way of working, combining multi-sensory moments, live music, and poetic language to create engaging high-quality theatre with strong emotional narrative. We’re the only company in UK exclusively touring theatre for audiences with PMLD to mainstream arts venues. We have made four shows and toured to over 70 venues across the country. We have 2 new shows ready to tour post-Covid. In 2016 we were the first company to take a show specifically designed for audiences with PMLD to Edinburgh Fringe. In 2019 we were invited to New Zealand to work with Touch Compass Dance to support the development of the country's 1st show specifically for audiences with PMLD which became ‘Masina Returning Home’ and during the pandemic have collaborated with them on a sensory film "The Badger Story". In June 2020 we launched The Frozen Light Podcast to stay in touch with audiences during the pandemic, documenting their experiences during this time http://www.frozenlighttheatre.com/podcast. We are currently working on 2065 the Multi-Sensory Movie to ensure people have a safe sensory offer they can access in their own homes.
