Rachael has an adult daughter with Rett Syndrome. In 2010, she co-founded Reverse Rett to galvanise UK efforts to impact the speed at which treatments and a cure can be developed. To date, Reverse Rett has delivered in excess of £3million to Rett Syndrome research. Rachael has served on the Board of the US based Rett Syndrome Research Trust since April 2013. Rachael is an active member of the Patient Engagement Group at Genetic Alliance UK and represents Reverse Rett as a member of the Patient Involvement Group at NICE. She has served on the Just Giving Advisory Board for small to medium charities since 2012. Rachael was a Finalist in the Inspiring Women's Awards 2015. Under Rachael's leadership, Reverse Rett has won two awards, the Charity Times Award's Best New Charity 2011 and the Just Giving Award's Best New Charity 2012.
