About this speaker

Chrys Blanchard is a freelance Musician and Performing Arts Practitioner living in South Wales UK. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and her career has spanned more than four decades. Her roles have been diverse – much of her early career was in Theatre and Radio, writing, performing, directing and composing and a stint or two with community circus.

When she had her children, she wanted to settle and her freelance work enabled her to be a mum too as she shifted focus into the field of education, creating workshops, training and projects for schools and special needs groups and writing for BBC Radio.

Chrys’ s work is enriched by her experiences and her love of dance, movement, art and colour is evident in the work that is her main focus these days – Healing Sound – using all aspects of sound, therapeutically for well-being.

Chrys is one of the founder members of The College of Sound Healing and runs courses at her home and around the UK and EIRE for those who want to become practitioners.

She and her partner have created a healing space, at their home,TALIESIN where they can run one to one sessions, workshops and training in the Sound Lodge and Gong Studio set in their beautiful garden

Chrys has been working with Emily – a young woman with Retts, for 3 years now. The sessions are funded by the local Health Board

“I have learnt so much from Emily, it has been a challenging journey to find what works for her, but such a privilege and joy “
